Last night in SF at the historic Warfield metal heads and Megadeth fans were not disappointed. The sold out show started out of the gates strong with new comers Havok killing it. They in my opinion had the second strongest set of the night. Children of Bodom were solid and energetic. The low point of the night was Suicidal Tendencies. Don’t get me wrong, it was still rad to see ST do their thing. It’s just wasn’t near the same level as the other bands. It was pretty rad seeing former Slayer drummer Dave Lombardo do is thing with them though. But the night belonged to the thrash Titans Megadeth. Mustaine along with new comers Chris Adler on drums (Lamb Of God), Kiko Loureiro on lead guitar and of course David Ellefson on bass are just so good. They are at a level the few if any can reach.
Megadeth came out firing with all systems a go. The set was a perfect balance of old and new songs. Speaking of new, the tracks of Megadeth’s latest effor “Dystopia” sounded insane and just as powerful as classics like Hanger 18 and Sweating Bullets. Megadeth Anthems like Peace Sells But Who’s Buying, Symphony Of Destruction & Holy Wars absolutely brought the house down. After all this years Mustaine and company still deliver. I highly recommend you see them live if given the chance.
